Prior to joining OMSE, Dr. Pritchard was Assistant Professor of Literacy Education in the College of Liberal Arts, University of Alabama Huntsville (2005-2012).  Dr. Pritchard serves as Director of Resident and Fellow Development, and had served previously as the senior learning specialist for residents and fellows, since she began at the UA College of Medicine in September 2012. Since January 2013, she has devoted full-time efforts assisting residents and fellows in preparing for step exams and board certification as well as providing guidance for improving communication and other professionals skills. 

Dr. Pritchard has mentored participants in the AMES/CA Education Scholars Program or prsented in the FID Series on education strategies. She works extensively with clinical departments on the education and evaluation of resident learners.
