About the Presenters
 
Dr. Reed is Assistant Professor, Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Clerkship Director, Assistant Program Director for Residency and a member of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology.Dr. Hiller is Associate Professor, Department of Emergency Medicine, Course Director of 4th Year Rotation, and Director, Medical Student Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine.

Description

Dr. Reed and Dr. Hiller will present findings from ongoing studies concerning the feedback process in the OB/GYN clerkship and Emergency Medicine 4th Year Rotation, respectively. They will address the implications of these findings for improving when and how educators engage medical students in formative and summative feedback, connections with summative evaluation, and for enhancing educator practices in clinical settings.

The audience is invited to raise questions concerning the implications for or share practices for effective feedback practices in non-clinical as well as other clinical settings. Disscussion will include ideas for new and continuing education research on this topic.
