Interpersonal & Communication Skills

The RAE Program employs a variety of educational strategies and engages residents in interactive activities, each wiht learning objectives aimed at helping them achieve competence in the six ACGME areas.

Below are examples of learning objectives related to achieving the ACGME competence area, Interpersonal and Communication Skills:

  • Describe the importance of building and how to cultivate effective teacher-learner relations with medical students.

  • Residents will be able to:

    • Communicate with students in ways that build rapport;

    • Engage students in reflective feedback conversations;

    • Write constructive narrative feedback.
