What does OMSE FID do?

The Office of Medical Student Education (OMSE) is committed to strengthening and advancing the faculty and curriculum development programs at the UA College of Medicine (UA COM). OMSE staff consists of professionals in education, education research, teacher education and related fields who:

  • Develop and conduct instructional development programs, workshops

  • Create instructional resources  

  • Assist faculty in integrating technology into their everyday teaching practice.

OMSE also partners with the Academy of Medical Education Scholars (AMES) to deliver the AMES\OMSE FID Series and Teaching Scholars Program.

What will you find on this site?

This site contains information and resources for faculty, including basic and clinical science faculty, residents, fellows, and affiliate faculty who teach in community-based healthcare settings. Site content is aligned with the undergraduate medical education program; for example, there is a section for preclinical educators (faculty who teach in years 1 and 2) and another for clinical educators (faculty who teach in years 3 and 4).  Below is a guide to what you will find in each section of this site:
