Presenter: Sean Elliott, MD, Professor, Department of Pediatrics

Time: 8:30 - 10:00 am

Intended Audience: All faculty

Description

Educational portfolios serve multiple purposes. They may guide your preparation for: 1) promotion and tenure; 2) seeking employment; and 3) identifying gaps in your teaching experience and areas for improvement. The target audience as well as the specific purpose for which you develop your education portfolio will inform how you approach the task and what you choose to include. It is important to seek guidance from a mentor in this process. Dr. Elliott will outline the purposes of and tasks involved in developing an educational portfolio, and provide a template to help you begin creating your own portfolios.
