Facilitator Training

Who is responsible for facilitator training?

The Director of Faculty Instructional Development is reponsible for developing and conducting the training for facilitators, and collaborates with the Manager for Curriculum and Assessment in all training addressing the assessmnt rubric for the course.

What does the facilitator training involve?

Training for CBI facilitators is required by UA College of Medicine instructional development policy. Training occurs in a single session, orienting facilitators to the course structure, goals, objectives and expectations for student behavior, as well as the assessment rubric and online tool. The session is conducted by Karen Spear Ellinwood, PhD, JD, Director, Instructional Development, and Susan Ellis, MA, EdS, Manager, Curriculum & Assessment.

Who schedules facilitator training?

Karen Spear Ellinwood will contact the facilitators directly to schedule training.

When will training occur?

Training will be held 1-2 months prior to the start of the semester. Reminders of resources will be sent periodically to facilitators.
