Since its inception in 2012-13, there have been 20 faculty members who have completed this project-based program.
Many program alumni have continued to participate in curriculum design and improvement activities and conduct education studies that have expanded their Scholars Projects or tackled new questions to advance undergraduate or graduate medical education.
Medical Education Scholar alumni include Kathy W. Smith, MD, Assistant Dean, Student Affairs, Richard Amini, MD, Assistant Dean, Student Affairs, Alice Min, MD, Assistant Dean, Faculty Development, and Lisa Stoneking, MD, Residency Program Director, Emergency Medicine-South.
The Medical Education Scholars program added an iTunes U course component in 2017-18 to enable asynchronous learning for faculty participants.
